Bijli Bill Mafi Scheme 2025: The government has officially launched the Bijli Bill Mafi Scheme 2025, bringing big relief to low-income households and farmers struggling with unpaid electricity bills. Under this scheme, 100% electricity bill waiver will be provided to eligible families, especially those who have outstanding dues on domestic or agricultural connections.

With the launch of the online registration portal, citizens can now apply easily from their mobile or computer without visiting electricity offices. The initiative is aimed at improving energy access and reducing financial stress among the lower-income group.


What is Bijli Bill Mafi Scheme 2025?

The Bijli Bill Mafi Yojana is a state-run electricity waiver scheme, applicable in various states like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Bihar (depending on state announcement). It waives off pending electricity dues for certain consumer categories like:

  • BPL card holders

  • Marginal farmers

  • Small domestic consumers

  • Labour class households

  • Registered beneficiaries under other welfare schemes (e.g., PM Awas Yojana, E-Shram)

Once enrolled, the entire pending amount till a specific date is waived off, and in some states, even free units of electricity are being offered monthly.
