Yellowstone’s Kevin Costner hires son to fill new role 2024
Kevin Costner’s son is about to make his film debut in what will be his father’s passion project, a two-part western titled Horizon: An American Saga.
Hayes’ character (presumably playing Miller’s son on screen) heroically resolves to secure her shelter and defend her home with her father. .
“It’s okay, I’m with your dad,” he says to Miller’s character in the trailer before closing the door and walking away.
“I did it on purpose so he could spend time with me,” he told People. “And the same goes for Kayden. The same goes for Grace. I’m just like any parent and I’m trying to understand, ‘This is really great. Come and talk to me. We should be together.”
In Hollywood, it’s all about who you know, and there are probably few aspiring actors who know Yellowstone star Kevin Costner better than his son Hayes. The 15-year-old made his screen debut in his father’s two-part Western film Horizon: An American Saga, the first part of which will be released in theaters on June 28th.
While some may be hesitant about director Costner, the second youngest of his seven children, casting his own child, the Oscar winner defended the decision on Instagram. “When it’s your own movie, you get to choose who you spend your time with.

Joining the father-son duo in the Civil War-era film are Yellowstone retirees Danny Huston (who played the hapless developer) is a military man. Dan Jenkins) and Will Patton (who played Jamie Dutton) star as Garret Randall’s useless biodar and Jamie Campbell Bower as Vecna (Stranger Things).

Since the trailer was released, Costner has been delighted with the response. “Thank you to everyone who showed us our trailer this week for the love,” he said. “I couldn’t be more excited to share this with you.” (See below.)
Talks are reportedly underway for several cast members to reprise their roles in the ongoing sequel to the Dutton family saga.
