Mr. & Mrs. Smith Series 2024 Where to watch Release Date: Donald Glover and Maya Erskine play John and Jane Smith, aka Mr. and Mrs. Smith, in a “reimagining” of the 2005 hit film of the same name. Glover was also a co-creator of the series with fellow “Atlanta” writer Francesca Sloane.

The series will follow the pair as they pursue high-risk missions each week as well as their relationship. Things are expected to get more complicated when the two develop real feelings for each other.

John (Glover) and Jane Smith (Erskine) are wandering youths who trade their old lives and identities for high-paying and high-risk missions, working for a secret corporation that gives them obscure tasks and only Communicates through instant messaging.
Paired as a fake married couple, the strangers actively avoid any romantic or sexual tension at first. But after the adrenaline rush of a mission or two, they fall into bed together, and get into some more typical married-couple fights (for example, it doesn’t take long for the fights to start).
In each episode the pair set out on a different mission for their unknown benefactor, as the threat of unknown punishment for failure looms. There are surprisingly good guest stars for each case of the week, including Alexander Skarsgård, Sarah Paulson, Sharon Horgan, Ron Perlman, Paul Dano, Michaela Coel, John Turturro, and Parker Posey.

They all look nice but seem equally confused when they’re there. Occasionally, John and Jane meet other John and Jane Smiths, who help uncover their employer’s mystery. But matters are an afterthought in each episode: the essence of the story is the relationship between them and all their mundanities and eccentricities.
