While the writers’ and actors’ unions reached an agreement with the studio last year and are now able to return to work, according to Deadline, filming on the final installment of Yellowstone won’t begin until late spring 2024.

It makes sense, since Taylor Sheridan’s show shoots a significant number of outdoor scenes in Montana, meaning sunny skies are a priority. So, as much as they probably wanted the strike to begin as soon as the placards were removed, there was still a bit of a wait to go.

The spring shoot has impacted the planned release of the second half of season five, with Paramount now set for a November 2024 premiere window.

While the fact that this is the end of Yellowstone will be a shock to fans, it has also been confirmed that Dutton’s story will continue in a new sequel, which will pick up where the final season of Yellowstone ends.
